Penang started the ball rolling in Malaysia by launching "No Plastic Bag Day" on every Monday starting July 2009. The state government had come out with this initiative to reduce plastic bag usage besides encourage its citizen to switch to other alternative like reusable bags. Failure to do so will cost customers to pay for 20 cent per charge per bag.

Selangor is one of the states that follow Penang step. They launched their first "No Plastic Bag Day"  on 2 January 2010. According to a study done in 2009, around 8 billion plastic bags have been used in Malaysia. Selangor is considered to be a major contributor to that statistic based on the state which is the most populated and urbanised in the country.

Refuse is to indicate or show that one is not willing to do something. Refuse also mean to indicate that one is not willing to accept or grant something offered or requested. The synonym for this word are decline, deny, reject, repudiate, disallow and repulse. Through Refuse Campaign, we will educate on why you as a teenager should refuse plastic bag from now on.
